- MultiChoice Group has revealed its intention to discontinue “Showmax Pro” in preparation for the upcoming relaunch of the Showmax platform, scheduled to take place by year-end.
- In a recent communication to subscribers, MultiChoice announced that, as part of Showmax’s upcoming relaunch, they will be concentrating their sports content solely on Premier League football, recognizing it as the most-watched football league in Africa. MultiChoice has announced that Showmax Pro, in its current form, will be phased out by November 30th.

- DStv Stream Compact Plus is presently offered at R549 per month, whereas Showmax Pro is available for R349 per month. This refers to a monthly savings of R200 for Showmax subscribers, who enjoy additional sports content, including select Rugby World Cup 2023 matches.
- Showmax group has announced that Showmax Pro customers will enjoy an exclusive opportunity to stream 115 live channels, access the entire “DStv video-on-demand library“, and retain their access to Showmax’s entertainment catalog.
